Jim Ramsey was given a wooden horse on his first birthday (first photo) and, at eighteen months, (second and third photos) he carried it around everywhere, trying desperately to become a jockey. At three years old, (fourth photo) he sat on a horse for the first time and began a love affair with horses and horse racing. Jim has been involved in horse-racing publication for thirty-two years and televised horse racing for twenty-eight years. He worked for Raceform as an eighteen year old as well as the horse racing desks of The Daily Mail and Sunday Telegraph.

He has worked extensively as a live director and producer of horse racing as well as the Channel Editor of attheraces and Racing UK. He has been very fortunate to have combined his two great passions of television and horse racing in his employment career. He now feels that he needs to contribute more to the growth of the industry in the future. He is a fervent believer in the principles of Racing UK and Turf TV as these have allowed the race courses to control their own destiny and become an example for other sports to follow.
